Total Disc Arthroplasty

For patients with stenosis and damaged intervertebral discs, this surgical procedure completely removes a compromised spinal disc and replaces it with a specially designed artificial disc which functions like a natural disc. This procedure is also described as total disc replacement.  Most patients return home the same day or the next day.  Activity levels, pain management and care of the incision will be thoroughly discussed with the patient prior to and after the procedure.
